A FAST_GROWING WEBSITE

Quantitative assessment

We're not going to complain, we
even can enjoy: after 13 ½ months of existence, our website attendance rate is in continuous progress.
Consider this: 50 members enrolled, 31 yacht registred (17 Amphitrites 43, 1 Amphitrite MS45, 13 Amphoras), almost 33 000 visits since February 16, 2009, a new record of 2886 passes in March 2010 (against 1,132 in March 2009) or, for the last month, an average of 93 visits per day. This shows how our boats are interesting!
The most remarkable is that the connections are more often from abroad and we are becoming the website of reference about  Amphitrites and Amphoras all over the world. Costa Brava, Netherlands, Greece, New Mexico, Corsica, Tunisia, Uruguay, Normandy, Turkey, Caribbean, New Caledonia, Riviera, East Coast of the United States, Singapore ... And there are few regions in the world where we do not find in a harbour or at the bottom of a creek an  Amph '.  And we can understand it,  these boats are traveling.
Furthermore, we see that we receive not only did  visits by the owners or skippers Amphitrites Amphoras, but also  many people involved,  by vessels or by the articles found on the website or by discussions grow. A sign improve it: Wauquiez  send us the customers asking about these boats.
We know (this time from a reliable source) that 138 Amphitrites 43, 96
Amphoras and 21 Amphitrites MS45 were built between 1975 and 1994, a total of 255 boats. We can still increase, our only limit being the non-use of the Internet by their owners. On the other side, we see that with a little goodwill and assistance of translators online, language is not itself such an insurmountable barrier.

Qualitative assessment

A month ago, we probably would have repeated that consume is good; consume and produce is better, because our website is to represent the combined efforts of all. We need reasoned response, accurate technical information, diagrams and photos for the site to become a genuine resource center for all of us.
But - thank goodness again - in the 2nd half of March, after a long hibernation with the first buds of spring, the Forum hosted a sudden, new issues have emerged and threads lengthened. We hope all those who undertake maintenance or improvement will give us a little account and provide us with information and photos.
Note that the  threads  "Problems propeller shaft", " Bridge Rehabilitation " and " Replacing the rigging "  caused the most number of reactions, it is not really surprising, since these are topics interesting  sailing boats 30 years old.
The heading "Tales of navigation" should be better provided. I know from experience that it takes time but it would be good after the summer holidays this topic grows  and allows us to assess the behavior of Amphitrite / Amphora and as part of a cruise Offshore or inshore and at the same time, to discover faraway lands or ear again about lands that we know well.

Last point: If you have any documents relevant to the community (diagrams, photos, reports of intervention narratives navigation ...), feel free to integrate the website, upload them or  communicate to Farid, to enrich our database. Thank you in advance.

Some members absent from the website have already gone back to the sea. For me, , I will join
tomorrow a land less exposed to showers of spring: Tunisia.

Happy surfing to all and long life to Amph!
