boom ...
I installed and used during an Atlantic crossing a boom blocker (??). Used both with and into the wind. When there is little wind and the boat rolls with the waves, it is quite useful to hold the boom.
See picture. At the basis of the main mast shroud because it is accessible from inside removing a wood board. 8 mill rope blocked at a cleat next to the genoa's winch.
