BRACKET REPLACEMENT

Following the ineffective operation of a crane driver (he put the strap under the shaft), my bracket was replaced in 2006 at Ajaccio, together with the shaft. The propeller was shipped to France-Hélices for checking.

You must first know that our brackets are not bolted brackets, but simply captives of polyester (stratified), which does not make them less strong (quite the opposite !). On the other hand, to get them out, you must dig the hull with a disk cutter and, given the unlikely thickness of polyester at this point (I can not give a number), it is a slog !

The bump you see behind the mizzen mast pillar under the floor of the cabin is the upper end of the bracket.

The installation of a new bracket requires specialized skills that no amateur can have.

After this job, you can hang the boat by the bracket, said the craftsman !!! Mindelo
